Description

An exceptionally rare and highly sought-after Omega Constellation Ref. 14902 from 1962, featuring an original, unrestored black gilt Pie Pan dial. Combining the striking Dogleg lugs with an unpolished case and original Omega Beads of Rice bracelet, this is a particularly desirable example of early 1960s Constellation watchmaking.

The stainless steel case remains unpolished, retaining beautifully sharp edges and the distinctive angular Dogleg lugs. It is paired with its original Omega Beads of Rice bracelet, measuring approximately 19 cm — a wonderful combination that is becoming increasingly difficult to find in such well-preserved condition.

The true highlight is undoubtedly the original black gilt Pie Pan dial. Unlike conventional printed dials, gilt dials were produced using a special process that allowed the metallic lettering and details to shine through the dark surface, creating remarkable depth and contrast. These early black gilt dials are especially prized by collectors, with surviving unrestored examples becoming increasingly scarce.

The watch retains its original Omega-signed plexiglass crystal and original steel Omega crown.

Inside beats the renowned Omega Calibre 561 automatic movement, freshly serviced and running excellent.

Highlights:

  • Reference 14902 – dating to 1962

  • Rare original, unrestored black gilt Pie Pan dial

  • Sharp, unpolished stainless steel case with Dogleg lugs

  • Original Omega Beads of Rice bracelet, approximately 19 cm

  • Original Omega-signed plexiglass and steel crown

  • Omega Cal. 561 automatic, freshly serviced

Finding a sharp, unpolished Constellation Pie Pan with Dogleg lugs and its original Beads of Rice bracelet is already a challenge. Discovering one with an authentic, unrestored black gilt dial from the early 1960s makes this example considerably more special. A remarkable collector's piece from one of Omega's most celebrated eras.
