Cartier Tank Must de Lemon Roman Dial Vermeil GM Full Set from 1980

A beautiful Cartier Tank Must de Vermeil GM from 1980, featuring the highly attractive Lemon Roman numeral dial and the mechanical Cartier Calibre 78-1. Presented as a full set with its original Cartier box and period paperwork, this is a wonderfully charming example from the early Must de Cartier era.

The classic 23 × 30 mm GM case remains in great vintage condition, offering the elegant proportions and warm vermeil finish that define the Must de Cartier collection.

Its distinctive Lemon Roman dial gives the watch tremendous personality while remaining unmistakably Cartier. Traditional blued steel hands provide a beautiful contrast against the warm dial, complemented by the signature blue sapphire cabochon crown. The mineral crystal remains spotless.

Inside beats the Cartier Calibre 78-1 manual-wind mechanical movement, freshly serviced and running excellent.

Adding considerably to the charm of this example is its unusual 1980 period provenance. The watch comes with its original Cartier presentation box and paperwork from the renowned jeweller Tollet. Interestingly, the paperwork was originally intended for an alarm clock, but the retailer instead filled in the details of this wristwatch — a quirky and fascinating period detail that has remained with the watch for more than four decades.

It is fitted with a handmade Belgian brown leather strap and a standard gold-plated pin buckle.
